Peppermint Bark

Peppermint bark is one of my favorite treats around the holidays! It is also crazy expensive. Which is funny since it is so easy and cheap to make. I spent a little under $6 to make it. I made it a bit thicker than normal, but I didn't have a lot of room in my fridge. (You know Thanksgiving foods take up a lot of room!)
1 lb white chocolate chips
1 cup crushed candy cane
Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler. Place the candy canes is a bag, and crush with a hammer. Spread the white chocolate on a cookie sheet, and sprinkle with crushed candy canes.

Oh, Karisma...

Last Friday Karisma woke up, grumpy and warm. She told me that her head hurt. I figured she had a headache. Around 8:30 pm, she started getting very dust, and clingy. When I took her temp it was 102.2. We gave her tylenol, and stayed up with her all night. The next day it was the same story. Her doctor told me to bring her to his office if she was still sick on Monday.
So come Monday she was starting to feel better, the fever had gone. Or so we thought... Monday night at about 8:30 pm she started ( I kid you not) screaming in pain, saying her stomach hurt. I took her temp and it was 103.1. So Chris and I rushed her to the ER.
At first they were talking appendicitis, but thankfully it wasn't that. Then there was the H1N1 test. Negative. But they couldn't let it go. She had to do a whole bunch of tests for H1N1. They were positive that since I hadn't gotten her the vaccine for H1N1, that she had it. I new the whole time though that it wasn't true.
Anyways, they got the fever under control and sent us home. Tuesday I had to take her to see Dr. T. It all came down to a virus. Her fever as finally broke, but she is still walking around hunched over. My poor precious eldest.

Edward Fix

There are these great books that completely have my attention. Yes, I am an Edward Cullen lover. Drives my husband nuts! Anyways, I am so excited about the new movie: New Moon. I am going to the midnight showing, and at the IMAX Theater!
It is funny how much I love these books. I was apprehensive at first, I am not a big vampire fan. Chris had to force me into watching Twilight, but within ten minutes I was completely hooked! That week Chris went and bought me all four books. I had finished all of them in five days. And now I have read them ten times!
I cannot wait to get my Edward fix. That's right I am Team Edward!

Snow, What? Snow, Who? SNOW WHITE!!!

My little monkey princess!!! She is so funny. One day about 3 weeks ago, we were walking around the Disney store, trying to kill time. Karisma, who is suddenly becoming very aware, and interested in princesses, saw a Cinderella dress. She immediately wanted to see it. Since I knew Halloween was coming around the corner, I looked at the price. $40-50 is just too much to pay for a costume. If I was a millionaire, I would by them no problem. But I'm not.
I found out about a Halloween Costume Swap, that we went to. Basically you bring a costume to trade. All for free. Free is a great price tag that I love! I saw a Cinderella Ballerina Costume that I picked up for her, then she noticed the Bumble Bee costume. So I also grabbed that, thinking that when Halloween night rolled around I would let her chose.
Then came last weekend. Karisma saw a Snow White Costume. And it was a really cute costume. And it came with everything but the shoes. Cape, hair bow, and an under skirt. And it wasn't expensive at all. So when she looked at me with those big brown eyes and said, "Please, Mommy!" I instantly knew she was going to get it. Chris didn't want to get it, because of the other two costumes at home, but once I reminded him that it only took two months to completely potty train her, he was on board!
The only problem was that there was not one in her size. So yep, I did it. I bought it, and altered it to fit her. My reasoning is that she can hopefully use it again some other year. Or who knows maybe even Kaedence will want to wear it someday.
My little angel princess, Kaedence is going to be a cute little pumpkin!

Cleaning! *updated*

Today I am cleaning my house from top to bottom! Earlier this morning out of curiosity I was looking on-line to see what types of homemade cleaners there are out there. Later after I am done cleaning I will post some of the one that I found, that I am going to give a try.

But I wonder what type of cleaners do you use? Do you have any homemade cleaners that you use and love? Please share with us!

*UPDATE*

Most of us have wipes in our household. You know those pieces of cloth that we us to wipe the cute baby tushies!!! This was my inspiration, sort of. I love Lysol Wipes. I used to use them for everything. Then I had kids, and the Lysol Wipes didn't fit into the budget anymore.

So I got to thinking. What if I could add a cleaning agent to a package of wipes? Well I found a mix this morning that I tried and I am VERY happy with the results. And I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier. My husband being a tattoo artist, I really should have thought of it sooner. I took 1 package of baby wipes and added 1 bottle of rubing alchol, I put them together is an old baby wipe dispenser! That is it. They work great. Now I used baby wipes because I did not have any paper towels. But next time I will be make this with paper towels.

I cleaned today with my new wipes, and I am very happy with the results.

What are your thoughts?

Kaedence has her 6 month check up in a few weeks. The H1N1 shot has hit the islands, and they are asking all children 6 months and older to take the vaccine. The are also asking parents of babies 6 months and younger to take the vaccine. Chris and I are both on the fence about this. He keeps saying, "the flu is the flu." I am worried about the after effects. This is a drug that hasn't been on the market very long and how do I know how it will affect my daughters.

Both my girls are up to date on all their shots, it is just this one that has me raising questions. I don't know maybe I should take that as a sign. I was told that if I did not give Karisma this shot, then she would not be able to attend pre-school. But that doesn't bother me, especially since I will be homeschooling both Kaedence and Karisma.

Anyways what are your thoughts? Will you be vaccinating your children?

Below are just some pretty pictures that I felt needed to be added...

Thank you, Hunny!

Dear Husband, I just wanted to say thank you for my new phone. It really is like a computer in my hands. I love you!
